There are two key components to achieving the body you want: targeted fat loss and targeted muscle “gains.” Both can be achieved at CAL when you combine CAL CoolShape with CAL BodySculpt. These two non-invasive procedures require no downtime and no incisions. Both offer fat reduction and are not a fat loss treatment (although some small amount of fat loss may be achieved with either treatments).

If they both offer spot reduction—which, remember, can’t be achieved by diet or exercise—what makes them different? And why should they be used together?

Let’s get back to basics: diet and cardio can both decrease the size of fat cells in the body. However, diet and exercise do not let you choose which fat cells are being decreased or to what degree. That’s why you may have discovered that no amount of working out or eating healthy gets rid of stubborn pockets of fat. Plus, diet and exercise can only reduce the actual size of fat cells, they are not entirely removed.

CAL CoolShape allows for targeted fat reduction by freezing away unwanted fat cells. You cannot achieve large weight loss with CAL CoolShape, but rather a means of sculpting and contouring your body by targeting stubborn areas of fat.

The ideal candidate for CAL CoolShape is already at or close to their goal weight and struggling with small areas of fat that just won’t budge.


The amount of body fat you have as well as its distribution is just half of the equation. Increasingly in recent years, both men and women alike have focused on strength instead of just body fat management. However, achieving hypertrophy is not fast or easy. Hypertrophy is the technical term for making muscles larger and stronger. This traditionally happens in a gym or if someone happens to have a physically demanding job. Muscles must undergo micro-tears in order to get bigger and stronger. As these tears in the fiber heal, muscles naturally get larger and can handle a similar load in the future. That’s why when you work out at the gym you need to keep increasing the weight load in order to keep muscles growing.

Not just any tear in the muscle will do. Unfortunately, a lot of people are well aware of how painful and debilitating a seriously torn muscle can be. If you want muscles to get bigger (or more “toned” as many people say), the muscle needs to achieve what’s called supramaximal contractions that tear the muscle just right. But did you know you don’t need to spend hours at the gym to achieve this aesthetic?

CAL BodySculpt works by forcing targeted muscles into 20,000 supramaximal contractions in just 30 minutes per site. It can be used on the abs, glutes, legs, or upper arms. Ultimately, your muscles don’t know the difference between supramaximal contractions achieved at the gym or through CAL BodySculpt. Most clients relax during their CAL BodySculpt session and scroll through their phone, catch up on a favourite show, or even work while their muscles are forced into 20,000 perfect contractions.


CAL BodySculpt can also help with fat reduction, but the primary benefit of this technology is muscle gains. There’s no way anyone could perform 20,000 reps of any strength training exercise in one session, and especially not in 30 minutes. CAL BodySculpt lets you undertake 20,000 lunges, squats, crunches, bicep curls, and a host of other traditional strength training moves without having to break a sweat.

However, just like a traditional workout (because CAL BodySculpt achieves the same results as a traditional workout) the results aren’t immediate. Most clients undergo a few customised CAL BodySculpt sessions spaced a few weeks apart, then see their final results a few weeks afterward.
